The SHIBUYA SKY roof at sunset, with visitors on the deck and the sun over Tokyo

SHIBUYA SKY sunset adult ticket

Adult entry to the SHIBUYA SKY roof in a 20-minute window of your choice between 15:00 and 21:00, the band that covers sunset and the night view.

The sunset ticket admits one visitor aged 12 or over to SHIBUYA SKY on one date, in one 20-minute entry window that starts between 15:00 and 21:00. It covers the late afternoon, the sunset and the night view, and these are the windows that sell out first.

What the sunset ticket covers

Entry through the 14th-floor gate in your window, then the Sky Gate climb, the indoor Sky Gallery on 46 and the open Sky Stage roof, with no time limit inside.

The light most people come for: the city turning gold, the sun going down in the west, then the lights coming on across Tokyo and, from 19:00, the Crossing Light beams rising from the roof every half hour.

Choose your window from our month-by-month table: about 40 to 60 minutes before sunset gives you time to use the lockers and find a place on the roof.

On the day

Get to the 14th floor of Shibuya Scramble Square with a margin, by the SHIBUYA SKY lift at street level outside the building. The windows are short, and the station around it is large.

Lockers on 46 take your bag, hat and anything else that cannot go outside. The roof gets busy towards sunset, so the sooner you are up, the more choice you have of where to stand.

Bring a layer. At 229 metres the wind is stronger than in the streets, and once the sun goes it cools quickly.

Who it is not for

If you cannot travel two weeks or less before your date, you cannot book this yet: each date goes on sale two weeks ahead. Hold the date with us instead.

If you want long, clear daytime views, a morning or midday window may suit you better, and costs less. And it is not for children aged 11 and under, who buy at the counter on the day.

Frequently asked

What if it is cloudy at sunset?
You still have the view and the evening lights, but not the sun itself. The roof only closes for wind, rain, thunder, snow, smog or extreme heat; cloud alone does not close it.
Can I stay after dark?
Yes. There is no time limit, and the deck is open until 22:30, so you can stay for the night view and the Crossing Light.
